So much going on!!

Aarrgghh... The last couple of weeks seem to have just flown by! So much has been going on lately that it's been a bit hard to keep up, so here's a bit of a catch up...

We held our second ever Embellished Retreat at Cool Waters on the weekend of the 18th April. It was so great to see so many new faces as well as a few familiar ones from last year. The fantastic Kelly Slattery and Kelly Turner travelled from New Zealand and Melbourne again and Marnie Sanford came all the way over from Perth! Kelly (Slattery) taught a superquick layout class while also giving out handy household tips and making everyone crack up! Marnie, Kirsty and Ali also taught a class each and we all had plenty of free time to get some other bits done. I managed to finish a couple of art journal pages while I was there..... haven't managed to get some photos yet though so will have to post them next time.

Here's a few photos from the weekend...

We also made a big announcement at the retreat..... I have decided to sell my half of Embellished back to Ali so that I can concentrate on being a full-time Mum. Working 5 days a week I find that I haven't been able to take the time to enjoy my pregnancy as when it gets to the weekend, I have all these things that I want to do, but I'm too exhausted to do them. I have loved seeing Embellished grow over the last year and can't wait to see what happens in the future. I will definitely still be around.... I'm going to continue teaching kids classes until I'm ready to pop and I'll be around the site and shop still. I would like to give a big thanks to Ali and Jo for all there support over the last year... I could not have done it without them!!! I have no idea what I'm going to do with all my time off... but I guess that's the fun of it... I get to take things as they come.

We've also decided that we are not going to sell our place in Brissy and stay where we living at the moment. It's going to take a bit of adjusting to get things ready for when the baby arrives as our main bedroom and living areas are upstairs, with the other 2 bedrooms downstairs. So it looks like baby will be in our room with us for a while and we might look at moving sometime later next year. Luckily we have a big bedroom with plenty of room once we move things around a bit. At least now I can get stuck into buying all the fun stuff and getting things ready. I'm 19 weeks pregnant now, so almost half way!! We got to hear the baby's heartbeat the other day which was fantastic! I keep thinking I can feel some movement, but it kind of feels just like gas so it can be a bit hard to tell! LOL...

Ali and I are off to Brisbane this morning for a girls weekend... I SOOO can't wait!! I've been looking forward to this for so long and now it's finally here! I'm taking my biggest suitcase and hardly packing any clothes so that I can bring heaps of shopping home with me. Mum and Dad are also coming down for a day so that we can do some baby shopping and stuff together.... they haven't been able to do anything like that with me as of yet as they live so far away.

Well, I better go and fininsh packing! Will post some piccies of our weekend away when we get back..... BYE!!

It's been a while.....

Just realised that it's been 3 weeks since my last post....oops!

All is going pretty well around here... am still pregnant and my belly is now starting to pop out - put on my jeans this morning and they definitely felt a bit tighter around my tummy! My first ante-natal appointment was quite boring - lots of paperwork and stuff - but I did get a sample bag with some disinfectant and stuff so that was kind of exciting.

We still haven't sold our house in Brissy so it looks like we'll miss out on buying the one up here that we really wanted.. oh well, it wasn't meant to be. Now we'll just get one that's a bit cheaper and that we can do up ourselves... in the past we have always replaced the carpets and painted when we've moved in so I'm kinda looking forward to that. Although Noel will have to do all the heavy lifting and stuff this time.. he he.

Haven't been scrapping a lot lately... have just been catching up on layouts for my kids classes that I do at the shop. But here are a few that I did a while ago....

The first one is of the cat that we had while living in Jeddah - he was a stray kitten that we found around our house (there is no shortage of them over there!). Sadly, when we left we had to put him down as we couldn't bring him home with us and we didn't know anyone that would take him. There was no way we were just going to let him become a street cat again.... he was way too spoilt!

In other exciting news, my Uncle and Auntie will be in Rocky tomorrow to drop off my ding desk! Ok, there's a story to that one.... when we were kids my Mum had a sewing table that had a cupboard at the bottom. Whenever you opened the door it would make a "ding" noise because of the catch on it. Now this doesn't sound very exciting but it used to keep my brother and I amused playing with it ( I was only about 8, my brother 5). When my brother moved out of home he took it with him and then when he moved to Melbourne he couldn't fit it in and was going to sell it. You can imagine my horror at the thought! So I went down and picked it up and it's been sitting at my Mum's house since. My Dad was then going to bring it up to Rocky but he got stuck at my Uncle's place a few weeks ago. So now finally, I will have it in my possession!! Now you'd think that it was worth something but it's not - it's just made out of cheap plywood - but it has great sentimental value!

Now a few more layouts and I'm off... the first was for the In Your Skin Challenges that we are running at Embellished. The theme for this one was Nose.

And this is for one of the Dares challenges - to use a newspaper article or ad....

Ok, till next time!
